Jim Foresman and Æleen Frisch in Oslo, Norway

James B. Foresman received his PhD in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991, studying with the Nobel laureate Sir John Pople. He was a post doc at Yale University with Prof. Kenneth Wiberg and is now Associate Professor and Chair, Department of Physical Sciences, York College of Pennsylvania. His primary focus has been on developing instructional materials which incorporate molecular calculations across the undergraduate curriculum. He has also published in the areas of excited states, solvent effects and modeling spectra. His home page is faculty.ycp.edu/~jforesma.

Æleen Frisch holds a BS from Caltech and a PhD in English/Cultural Studies from the University of Pittsburgh where her thesis focused on the literary and cultural analysis of late 18th-century scientific and political texts. She is the author of numerous technical books, most notably Essential System Administration (O’Reilly Media), now in its third edition. She is also a book artist (see aeleen.com), a publisher of hand bound editions of new literary works (medusaslaugh.com) and an as-yet-unpublished novelist and poet.
